Building Project

Through much deliberation and prayer, we have had many doors before us shut and others open. We no longer have the option of purchasing land in front of us. Our property was appraised substantially lower than we had originally anticipated. The result has left us with a single option: we have to work with what we have.

The building committee is now conferring as to how we can expand and improve our current facility in a way that will be cost effective, address our needs, and be a functional option both now and for future needs. In that, we are focusing on three primary needs: parking, sanctuary seating, and children's ministry space. In the interim, we will be pursuing a third service. We thank you for the patience and grace shown to us as we consider our options.

Cutting back the stage and upgrading some of our equipment are items of improvement set for the near future.

Concerning the stage, we are looking to cut the stage back which will provide more room in our sanctuary. This would allow for an additional 30+ chairs. That spread over 2-3 services allows for an additional 60-90 people. That is a substantial impact to our current space.

Concerning the improvement to our A/V, an upgrade is needed for our space in order to produce a clearer, cleaner, and more integrated sound. As our current space stands, we have wrestled with achieving a sound that properly serves the congregation as a whole. We are aware of this problem and are actively making moves toward improving our in-house and online experience. The upgrades we hope to make will provide more ability for us to achieve a sound design that cultivates a space for us all to participate in musical worship and reception of teaching.

As you can imagine, it takes money to make things happen. We trust the Lord to bring the funds that are needed for our daily operations as well as to bring this to fruition. The Building Committee is actively working out ideas for fundraising efforts. In addition to that, Mountain View Church will be dedicating the tithes of the final Sunday of each month to the Building Fund.

One of our largest issues through our growth has been parking. The dirt lot to the North of our property has been utilized to increase our parking volume. Markers have been placed to designate parking spots, effectively doubling our spaces.

Additionally, we have completed the walkway from the top to the bottom, making the task of parking in our upper lot just that much safer.

There are current plans to move the shed that is in the upper lot to provide more parking spaces.

We have moved forward with the installation of new fans in the sanctuary to help manage the heat of the summer months.

One of the larger areas that has been impacted by our growth has been the children's ministry. As we are seeking to make improvements to our building in the interim, a few upgrades have been added to the upstairs classrooms. They now have dutch doors and a new TV has been donated.

In addition to these changes, the A/V equipment is getting ready to be moved to open up more space upstairs. The pre-school room will be expanded into the current office space that is there.
